Orange Class

Welcome to our KS1-Year 1 class!

We are a lovely, lively class of 8 pupils, who love to learn through sensory exploration, play and using our investigation skills. We like to spend our time using our senses to explore the world around us, responding and activating cause and effect toys and accessing different equipment both inside the classroom and out.

We enjoy our sessions in the Sensory Kingdom which help us to regulate our sensory needs and get us ready to learn. We enjoy our sensory swimming sessions on a Wednesday morning. We love music, songs and rhymes, you will often see us singing and having a boogie alongside our learning journey!

Our class teacher is Sam and our wonderful Teaching Assistants are Dee (Tuesday-Friday), Karis (Monday), Shirley and Jack.

We cannot wait to see what we can get up to this year together!

IMPORTANT CLASS INFORMATION

Home School Dairies

We ask families and carers to return the Home School diary each day, as this will enable the class staff to provide comments and information about you child's day in school. If there are particular things you wish to be informed about, please speak with the class teacher. We aim to write in these books at least 3 times per week.

Individual Education Plans

These set out the priority targets that your child is working on for the term; these targets are linked to the overarching targets set out in your child's EHCP. IEPs are updated each half term and sent home. If there is anything that you would particular like us to be working on please just let us know.

Sensory Swimming & PE

Sensory Swimming will be on a Wednesday morning. Each week we ask you to send in your child's swimming kit, including swim pads. These will be sent home after each session.

PE sessions can change each half term so please check the class timetable. PE kits can be sent home at the start of each half term and will be returned to you at the end of the half term. If you would like your child's PE kit to be sent home each week please let us know.

Class Funds

We kindly ask for a voluntary contribution of £1.50 a week towards our class snack funds. You can send your own snack in if you would prefer to do this for your child.
